Halper A, et al. - This research was formulated in order to gauge the effects of cortisol and androgen levels on bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition in children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). CAH cases reported lower BMD compared with controls. However, no variations were discovered in body composition. A correlation was determined between increased chronic androgen exposure, as measured by bone age Z-scores, with higher BMD but not with visceral adipose tissue (VAT) among CAH cases.
