Single and joint antibacterial activity of aqueous garlic extract and Manuka honey on extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli

Idris AR, et al. - In this study, researchers investigated the antibacterial activity of aqueous garlic extract (AGE) and Manuka honey on extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli. Compared to AGE, Manuka honey exhibited greater antibacterial activity against ESBL-producing E. coli. The concentration of AGE and Manuka honey were influencing their antibacterial activity and interaction against ESBL-producing E. coli.
