Jones HJ, et al. - The association of patterns of cigarette and cannabis use with preceding and subsequent psychotic experiences were examined in this study. In addition, researchers compared the effects of confounding across these patterns. They found that both adolescent cannabis use and cigarette use were correlated with increased risk for subsequent psychotic experiences. The epidemiological evidence was substantively more robust for cannabis use when compared to tobacco use.
