Hajjar I, et al. - The long-term outcomes of the various recommended systolic blood pressure (SBP) levels were comprehensively investigated in this trial. It also analyzed the existence of racial variations, based on long-term cognitive trajectories. A Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT) SBP level of 120 mm Hg or lower did not exhibit any connection with worsening cognitive outcome, for patients 70 years of age or older receiving treatment for hypertension. It could be superior to the Eighth Joint National Committee (JNC-8) target for cognition. It was noted that lower SBP treatment levels could cause improved cognition in black patients.
