Biopsy core features are poor predictors of adverse pathology in men with grade group 1 prostate cancer

Audenet F, et al. - This trial was formulated in order to detect the predictors of adverse pathology for low-risk prostate cancer (PCa) treated with radical prostatectomy (RP). Furthermore, it contemplated if a threshold number of positive cores could assist in the decision process for active surveillance (AS). With regard to the exclusion of patients with otherwise low-risk PCa on biopsy, from AS based on criteria such as the number of positive cores or maximum cancer involvement of biopsy cores, a little basis was found.
