Wolff I, et al. - The target of this paper was to examine the effect of gender on the clinicopathologic features and survival of patients with surgically treated papillary renal cell carcinoma (papRCC) applying a comprehensive international multicenter database. As per the data, no impact of gender on survival was observed analyzing this large cohort of patients undergoing surgery for papRCC. Nevertheless, cancer-specific mortality appears to be lower in female patients with organ-confined disease. On the other hand, it is interesting that the likelihood of NSS seems to be significantly higher in male patients.
