Dineen R, et al. – This paper highlighted the endocrine side effects of lithium toxicity on renal, thyroid and parathyroid function. In patients receiving lithium therapy stage 3 chronic kidney disease (CKD), thyroid dysfunction and hypercalcaemia were commonly seen. Hence, surveillance of renal, thyroid and bone biochemistry was recommended in patients taking lithium therapy.
