Fusobacterium nucleatum as a prognostic marker of colorectal cancer in a Japanese population

Yamaoka Y, et al. – In this study, experts sought to compare the abundance of Fusobacterium nucleatum (F. nucleatum) in colorectal tissues with clinicopathologic and molecular features of colorectal cancer. They proposed that in colorectal cancer patients, determining F. nucleatum levels could help in predicting clinical outcomes. Using independent datasets, further confirmatory studies were required to confirm the findings.
