Helve S, et al. – The purpose of this inquiry was to assess the prognostic utility of single–photon emission tomography (SPECT) in patients evaluated for kidney transplantation. In these subjects, an association was obvious between SPECT–detected myocardial ischaemia and mortality. Furthermore, even a mild perfusion defect in SPECT was found to be predictive of poor prognosis in this patient population, as compared with populations with coronary artery disease.
