• This is a population-based cohort study, that comprised 46,468 patients with glaucoma, to assess if disability results in decreased glaucoma medication adherence and if this decrease differs by type of disability.

• A higher frequency of glaucoma outpatient visits was noted in patients with disabilities than those without disabilities.

• Having limb disability, being in a vegetative state, and having dementia were found to be linked with 0.226 to 3 fewer outpatient visits and lower medication adherence (by 0.7-17.6 percentage points).
