Ren H, Zhao C, Jia Z, et al. - Researchers investigated the factors predictive of the analgesic efficacy of CT‐guided percutaneous pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) in patients suffering from idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia (TN). Screening was performed in patients with idiopathic TN who failed to respond to conservative management and had CT‐guided percutaneous PRF treatment of the Gasserian ganglion. A ≥50% decrease in the pain numeric rating scale score from baseline was defined as a positive response. This study included 102 patients with idiopathic TN, among those, a positive response to experts' treatment after 1 year was reported in 57 patients (55.9%). Findings are indicative of a likely better efficacy of PRF in patients who previously had positive responses to peripheral branch nerve block of the trigeminal nerve.
