Bleeding risk in patients with acute coronary syndrome in a Turkish population: Results from the Turkish Acute Coronary Syndrome Registry (TACSER) study
European Journal of Clinical Investigation Jul 01, 2020
Avci E, Kiriş T, Elif Akgün D, et al. - The present study was carried out to analyze bleeding risk in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who were scheduled to receive dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in Turkey. Researchers performed a multicentre, observational, cross‐sectional cohort study including a total of 963 patients with ACS from 12 centres in Turkey. The Predicting Bleeding Complication in Patients Undergoing Stent Implantation and Subsequent Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (PRECISE‐DAPT) score was applied to prognosticate the bleeding risk for all the patients. The individuals were classified into high (≥ 25) or low (˂ 25) bleeding risk groups based on their PRECISE‐DAPT scores. Among the patients with ACS, they noted a higher mean PRECISE‐DAPT score, highlighting that the bleeding tendency was high. This data displayed that the PRECISE‐DAPT score may help physicians ascertain the type and duration of DAPT, particularly in patients with ACS in Turkey.
