Four-year observation of the changes in corneal endothelium cell density and the correlated factors after Implantable Collamer Lens V4c implantation
British Journal of Ophthalmology Jun 27, 2020
Yang W, Zhao J, Sun L, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective, consecutive study to assess the changes in corneal endothelium cell density (ECD) and the associated factors after Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) V4c implantation. Forty-eight eyes of 25 patients with myopia who had ICL V4c implantation were involved. During follow-up (average 52 ± 2.9 months), all surgeries were performed safely with no complications. According to findings, ICL V4c implantation is safe and effective for the correction of myopia. Anterior segment biometric parameters including the vault, anterior chamber angle, and central ICL may influence changes in ECD; in particular, the vault plays a key role.
