Prognostic value of soluble ST2 and soluble LR11 on mortality and cardiovascular events in peritoneal dialysis patients
BMC Nephrology Jun 18, 2020
Choi YB, Lee MJ, Park JT, et al. - Researchers determined the prognostic worth of sST2 (soluble form of suppression of tumorigenicity 2) and sLR11 (soluble low-density lipoprotein receptor relative with 11 ligand-binding repeats) on all-cause death and major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) in patients receiving peritoneal dialysis (PD). They analyzed 74 prevalent PD patients from a prospective cohort. An independent link of greater sST2 with higher risk of all-cause death and MACCEs was revealed in multivariable Cox analyses. sST2 demonstrated additive predictive worth for death to the base model incorporating traditional risk factors. Overall, findings revealed a significant prognostic worth of sST2, but not of sLR11, for all-cause mortality and cardiovascular events among PD patients.
