Nut consumption and risk of cancer: A meta-analysis of prospective studies
Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Feb 18, 2020
Long J, Ji Z, Yuan P, et al. - In this meta-analysis of prospective studies, researchers intended to determine if there is an association between nut consumption and risk of cancer. By searching Web of Science and PubMed databases up to June 2019, prospective studies reporting connections between nut intake and risk for all types of cancer have been identified. Thirty-three studies were eligible for the analysis which included more than 50,000 cancer cases. An inverse association was found between dietary nut consumption and cancer risk, particularly for cancers from the digestive system.
