Association of changes in physical activity and incidence and remission of overall and abdominal obesity in 113,950 adults

Martinez-Gomez D, Hamer M, Ortega FB, et al. – In this study involving nearly 114,000 healthy adults in the Taiwan MJ cohort, researchers assessed the dose-response relationship between changes in physical activity (PA) and subsequent incidence or remission of overall and abdominal obesity. Overall, the researchers found that increasing PA may help prevent both overall and abdominal obesity. Furthermore, increasing PA may facilitate weight loss to non-obese status and reduced waist circumference among obese individuals.
