Urology Feb 12, 2020

Butaney M, Thirumavalavan N, Balasubramanian A, et al. - This study was performed to evaluate the variability in management of estrogen levels in men treated with testosterone therapy (TTh). In this study, an anonymous review was electronically circulated to the group of the International Society for Sexual Medicine including questions on demographics, symptoms, and their appearance to the management of estrogen in patients on TTh. Researchers applied Chi-square test to determine associations. It was noted that about 50% of practitioners treating men with TTh monitor estrogen levels. In men on TTh, increased monitoring of estrogen levels will promote an understanding of the symptoms, impacts of high and low estrogen levels, and aid in the standardization of research and therapy.
