Efficacy of dapoxetine treatment in Chinese patients with premature ejaculation and possible factors affecting efficacy in the real-world practice
BMC Urology Feb 10, 2020
Peng J, Fang D, Li H, et al. - In this study, the factors influencing the efficacy of dapoxetine for the treatment of Premature ejaculation (PE) in the real-world setting were evaluated. A total of 154 individuals were included between Jan 2015 and Dec 2015. Researchers obtained a clinical global impression of change (CGIC), premature ejaculation profile (PEP), the estimated intravaginal ejaculation latency time (eIELT) and estimated number of intravaginal thrusts before ejaculation (NITBE). The study compared the clinical characteristics of individuals with CGIC = 0 and CGIC ≥ 1. The study found an obvious improvement compared with the baseline regarding mean eIELT and mean NITBE after 4 weeks of treatment. Individuals with PE, dapoxetine was well-tolerated and improved sexual satisfaction. In real-world practice, the severity of PE based on PEDT and NITBE implies that there could be an effective move with dapoxetine use.
