Is testosterone replacement an effective treatment of secondary premature ejaculation?

Andrologia Jan 14, 2020

Tahtali IN - Investigator sought to discover the characteristics of people with premature ejaculation in regard to the four subtypes of premature ejaculation. Further, they discover the effectiveness of testosterone replacement therapy in the treatment of testosterone-deficient people with secondary premature ejaculation. He involved those people who came to their clinic from May 2010 to August 2018 with premature ejaculation. The mean age of the study group was 36.42 years. In comparison with other groups, those with secondary premature ejaculation were found to had notable lower testosterone concentration. Among those with secondary premature (early) ejaculation (PE), the shortest mean intravaginal ejaculation latency time and lowest International Index of Erectile Function-5 score was found. In view of treatment results, a 4.8-fold rise in mean intravaginal ejaculation latency time was demonstrated by recipients of testosterone replacement, while dapoxetine recipients had a 1.8-fold increase. A study suggests that in the presence of testosterone deficiency, testosterone replacement might be a promising treatment for those with secondary PE.
