A preliminary study on the impact of detrusor overactivity on the efficacy of selective bladder denervation for the treatment of female refractory overactive bladder
Urology Dec 05, 2019
Brière R, et al. - In this prospective single institutional study of 23 refractory overactive bladder (OAB) women who underwent a urodynamic study and were categorized according to detrusor overactivity (DO) status (DO- vs DO+) former to receiving selective bladder denervation (SBD), experts ascertained whether the presence of DO was related to the 12-week and 12-month clinical outcomes of SBD in females with refractory OAB. Results showed that irrespective of baseline DO status, refractory OAB females seemed to be efficiently treated via SBD. Moreover, DO status does not appear to be correlated with the 12-week and 12-month outcomes of SBD.
