Efficacy and safety of tratinterol hydrochloride tablets in bronchial asthma: A randomized double-blind and multicenter clinical trial

Journal of Asthma Oct 20, 2019

Kong L, Zhao Y, Wang Y, et al. - Whether tratinterol hydrochloride affords a safe and effective treatment option for patients with bronchial asthma (BA) was investigated. Researchers randomly assigned patients (n = 732) to a treatment group (tratinterol hydrochloride) (n = 365) and an active control group (procaterol hydrochloride) (n = 367) and offered treatment for 2 weeks after running-in. Both groups exhibited a significant increase in forced expiratory volume following treatment. They found that forced expiratory volume, morning peak expiratory flow and asthma scores varied significantly with pretreatment. Overall, findings revealed the efficacy as well as safety of tratinterol hydrochloride, in addition to its non-inferiority to procaterol hydrochloride in treating BA.
