Impact of stringent response in proteinuria on long-term renal outcomes in proliferative lupus nephritis

Lupus Oct 12, 2019

Won J, Lee JS, Oh JS, et al. - A total of 87 patients with class III or IV lupus nephritis (LN) who attained complete renal response (CR) at one year following induction therapy were involved in order to assess the impact of stringent CR, defined as a urine protein/creatinine ratio of < 0.15, on long-term renal outcomes in proliferative LN. The stringent and non-stringent CR groups were comprised of 58 and 29 individuals, respectively. In proliferative LN, attainment of stringent CR prognosticated a lower risk of renal flare and development of CKD. Thus, this infers that stringent CR is an important treatment target in proliferative LN.
