Semen cryopreservation in adolescent and adult men undergoing fertility compromising cancer treatment: A systematic review
Andrologia Oct 09, 2019
Valipour A, et al. - Via a systematic review of 6,105 returned citations and 42 studies involved in the analysis, researchers investigated the existing literature concerning the frequency of offers and attempts of semen cryopreservation (the most established alternative for male oncological individuals wanting to conserve their fertility). The prevalence of offer ranged from 8% to 100% and corresponding attempts varied from 3% to 79%, revealing a broad heterogeneity with variable reporting of impactful variables. Calculated by the number of scientific publications, the information for fertility preservation is rising while actual prevalences are different. Constant reporting of a core set of factors is needed in order to recognize variables impacting offer and attempt predominances.
