Andriuta D, et al. - Researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature data on simple reaction time (SRT) slowing in mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Candidates with MCI included publications with information on SRT, age, and academic level. A total of 327 candidates with MCI (mean age was 68.2 years) and 468 healthy controls (HCs) [mean age was 72.3 years] were included in the seven selected studies. Mini-Mental State Examination weighted mean score was 26.4 in the MCI group and 28.4 in the HC group. In people with MCI, SRTs are longer. Additional studies are required to determine the slowing mechanism of SRT, its anatomical correlates, and a threshold value for prodromal AD diagnosis.
