Akram Z, et al. - In this investigation involving 94 people, researchers evaluated the levels of advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs) in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of chronic periodontitis (CP) patients with and without type-2 diabetes mellitus (type-2 DM). Using standard techniques, the GCF was collected and levels of AGEs were evaluated. In CP patients with type-2 DM, the GCF levels of AGEs are higher than in systemically healthy people with and without periodontal diseases.
