Dutra BG, et al. - In patients with acute ischemic stroke who receive endovascular treatment, researchers ascertained if thrombus imaging features seen on computed tomography were correlated with outcomes. Using univariable and multivariable regression models, they assessed associations of thrombus imaging features with the functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale at 90 days), mortality, reperfusion, duration of endovascular treatment, and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage. A total of 408 patients were evaluated. According to findings, distal location, higher clot burden score, and shorter length were linked to better functional result and faster endovascular procedure. The results of this study revealed that distal thrombus was strongly correlated with successful reperfusion, and better functional outcome was related to a pervious thrombus.
