Death estimation of 48 million people with serious health-related suffering by 2060, representing almost double of 26 million people in 2016 was concluded by the authors. Dementia was suggested as the condition that would be at the highest proportional increase in serious health-related suffering. Furthermore, the burden of serious health-related suffering would be increasing at the fastest rate in low-income countries, among older people.
