Piersiala K, et al. - The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force suggested annual lung cancer screening with low-dose CT in a well-defined group of high-risk smokers after the publication of large clinical trials in January 2014, however, a significant proportion of patients with laryngeal cancer (LC) meet the criteria that were introduced, and researchers assumed that these evidence-based guidelines would change clinical practice. A total of 151 patients met the study's inclusion criteria and a total of 746 patient-years were followed. According to findings, implementing new lung cancer screening guidelines did not change clinical practice in LC patient management and many patients did not receive recommended screening.
