Searching online databases including PubMed/Medline, ISI Web of Science, and Scopus Totally, they identified three cohort studies, one cross-sectional study, one nested case-control study, and one case-control study as eligible for inclusion. Combining seven effect sizes from six studies revealed a significant inverse correlation of metformin use with the risk of fracture.
