Simsek T, et al. - The analgesic effects of tramadol-absorbed merocel nasal packings vs lidocaine-absorbed merocel nasal packings in patients undergoing septoplasty operation were compared using visual analog scale in the postoperative period. In this retrospective study, medical records of 122 patients aged between 18 and 50 years were used. According to the application of lidocaine, tramadol and 0.9% NaCl on merocel nasal packings, they divided patients into three groups. As per findings, tramadol infiltration to nasal packings led to a decrease in the requirement for additional analgesics in the postoperative period, an increase in patients’ satisfaction, a decrease in the length of hospital stay, and as a result, reduced the rate of secondary infections.
