Ojanguren I, et al. - Via this longitudinal analysis, researchers examined a large chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis (CHP) patient sample to assess mortality, possible predictors of long-term survival, and health-related quality of life. These participants had a follow-up period of at least 1 year. Final sample had 160 patients, of those 87 remained alive. According to findings, a bad mid-term prognosis was associated with CHP, which appeared a severe disease. The identified predictors of survival were lymphocyte values in bronchoalveolar lavage and transfer factor of the lung for carbonmonoxide values at baseline, presence of honeycomb in high-resolution chest scan (HRCT), and usual interstitial pneumonia histologic pattern. An EuroQol-5D score <0.8 was seen in all patients at follow-up. Likely anxiety and depressive syndrome were reported in 21(50%) and 9(28.6%) subjects, respectively. For prompt initiation of antigen avoidance, it is fundamental to early diagnose the disease accurately.
