Lipids in Health and Disease Apr 14, 2019

Ding Y, et al. - In patients with acute pancreatitis, researchers assessed the impact of the hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype on disease severity. Diagnosis and severity analysis of acute pancreatitis were determined in accordance with the 2012 revision of the Atlanta classification guidelines, and they examined the link between acute pancreatitis severity and hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype, including waist circumference index. Hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype was related to systemic inflammatory response syndrome, organ failure, and severe acute pancreatitis. Upon admission, the hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype was strongly linked to acute pancreatitis in patients.
