Analysis of 1099 COVID-19 cases in China shows lower rates of severe disease and mortality*

As COVID-19 nears pandemic status we need an understanding of its clinical spectrum. Researchers at a national Chinese research center analyzed data on 1099 inpatients and outpatients (median age, 47; 58% male; 3.5% healthcare workers) with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 diagnosed at 552 hospitals in China between December 11, 2019, and January 29, 2020.
