The spread of pandemic COVID-19 has drastically affected life all over the world. Based upon the cases so far, personal hand and respiratory hygiene, appropriate protection, social distancing, keeping safe the vulnerable groups such as the elderly >60 years, with medical comorbidities and immunodeficiency can be potentially effective to curb the spread in the absence of a definitive cure.

Healthcare professionals are undergoing tremendous pressure in this phase. A significant number of COVID-19 patients develop cardiac ailments requiring cath lab procedures. Statements from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions have advocated the following approaches for the management of COVID-19 patients potentially requiring cath lab procedures. Although thrombolysis was suggested in STEMI patients in China during the outbreak of the disease, but proper management depends upon the prevalence of the disease and availability of resources.
