The journey of healthy skin begins the moment we start taking care of it. And we as doctors generally forget to do so. Here are some easy-to-go skin care routine tips, one can follow to get that ever-shinning natural glow.


Blame it on our busy schedules or lack of interest due to other priorities, a skincare routine is the most ignored one. And the biggest myth is that a healthy and systematic skincare routine is only for females. Well, the male skin deserves the same amount of attention and care too.

We assume this routine to be filled with rows of beauty products and fancy cosmetics, but that's not all about it. There are many natural and easy ways to follow using simple ingredients. All we need is some consistency in following it and some motivation to start practising self-care.


Papaya - Key to rejuvenation

A few of you might be wondering how can a fruit help here. Well as we all know a nutritious diet could help with skincare but using this wonder fruit papaya, in form of a paste, and leaving it for a few minutes can give you instant rejuvenating and refreshing skin.


Banana- The miracle fruit

This fruit suits all skin types and helps in getting a natural glow plus acts very well in case of skin issues like acne. For dry skin, using a combination of smashed ripe banana with honey or coconut oil as a face mask can leave your skin supple and hydrated. Whereas for oil skin, a combination of ripe banana, oats, and lemon juice with honey works wonder. For acne, a ripe banana with some lemon juice and a pinch of baking soda can work well too for some skin types.


Egg white

A combination of egg whites and yoghurt can work best if you wish to get rid of clogged pores and blackheads. The proteins in the egg white also help in keeping the skin firm and rejuvenated.


Rice ginger body scrub

We often forget to look after the skin other than our face. Complete hydration and detoxification for our body's skin especially the legs and arms are extremely important. Mixing a cup of rice (grind it in a mixture, along with some coconut milk, brown sugar, and a little pinch of finely ground ginger paste, can act as an excellent detoxifying agent for your skin along with exfoliation of dead skin. This natural scrub can give your skin a natural and radiant glow.


Cocoa face mask

A mixture of cocoa powder, egg whites, a little sour cream, and some honey can replenish moisture and help you get rid of that dullness on your skin. This mast is also an anti-oxidant mast and has great results in terms of anti-ageing. While honey helps in soothing the skin, the proteins in the egg white help in nourishing the skin, thus leaving it tight and firm.


Honey lip scrub

Sometimes applying layers of lip balm can still leave your lips chapped and dry. A natural honey lip scrub that can be made with a mixture of honey, coconut oil, some brown sugar, and lemon juice can act as a great exfoliator for the dry skin on the lips and help you get rid of that white cast giving.


Milk soak

Constant use of sanitizer ad frequent hand washing with antibacterial handwashes is a part and parcel of our day as a doctor. But this can also leave your hands very dry and dull. Soaking your hand in some warm milk for just about 10 minutes can help you regain that moisture which will simply leave your hands soft and hydrated.


Orange peel

Looking for an instant glow? Grind some leftover orange peels along with some rose water and leave the face mask for a few minutes. What follows is instant radiance and can make your skin look brighter. It also helps in acne control and makes the skin firm and tight.


Saffron mask

Soak a few strands of saffron soaked in some milk or honey and leave the mask for 5-10 minutes. Wash it with cold water and say goodbye to those skin blemishes and dark circles. It also helps in skin lightening and gives the skin a natural glow. It also helps in treating blemishes, and uneven tones of the skin and also helps in reducing blackheads.


Almond oil

Being rich in Vitamin E and filled with antioxidants, almond oil can be a great addition to your skincare routine. It helps in preventing fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps in reducing dark circles in stretch marks. Use almond oil regularly or one can also use a paste of soaked almonds with milk as a face mask. That will add an instant glow to the face.
