Twenty Indian doctors go to Anambra for medical mission

Twenty Indian doctors belonging to various clinical specialties have landed in Anambra, Nigeria on October 25, and will be spending the next 10 days treating patients there.



The team comprising 15 male and 5 female doctors has been sent on request of the Rotary Club District 9142, Awka. The team includes surgeons, orthopedics, paediatricians, dentists, anesthetists, urologists and gynaecologists. The doctors will be operating out of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka for 10 days where they will be treating ailments and conducting surgeries, free of charge. Dr Jorsan Fernandez, who is leading the team mentioned that the time spent with Indian specialists will also be useful for improving skills and vocational training among medical specialists at COOUTH.
