Chief Minister directs officials to collect feedback on medical treatment provided to patients in COVID hospitals

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister directed the officials to collect feedback on the medical treatment, food and other services being provided to the patients in the COVID hospitals in the state and also on the maintenance of sanitation.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on COVID -19 with the officials concerned in his camp office at Tadepalli near here on August 7. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the officials to launch outreach programmes to create awareness among people about the hospitals, which are providing treatment to the Coronavirus patients. He asked them to stick wall posters at the village and ward secretariats providing information to the people on the COVID hospitals.

He also asked officials to erect hoardings and posters at all the government hospitals providing information to people about going to hospitals, if contracted by the Coronavirus. “The MLAs should be part of the implementation of preventive measures”, the Chief Minister said and asked the officials to provide needed information to the MLAs. “Masks should be given to students before reopening of schools”, he directed the officials.

The officials informed the Chief Minister steps are being taken to minimise the deaths of Coronavirus patients and improve facilities in COVID hospitals. The officials told him that 3,189 beds are available in the COVID hospitals across the state and 16,404 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment. As many as 4,965 patients are on ventilator and oxygen.

The officials told the Chief Minister that 11,200 staff are being recruited to work in COVID hospitals and other services. The officials apprised him that the patients with fever and low oxygen levels are being immediately admitted to hospitals and if the problems aggravates the patient is being shifted to COVID hospitals. The Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Medical and Health, the Chief Secretary, the DGP, the Medical and Health Special Chief Secretary and other officials participated in the review meeting.
