Effect of vitamin D supplementation on depression in elderly patients: A randomized clinical trial

Alavi NM, et al. - Researchers performed an 8-week, randomized clinical trial to investigate the impact of vitamin D supplementation on the treatment of depression in older adults. Participants in the study were 78 older adults aged > 60 years with moderate to severe depression. For this investigation, Mann Whitney U test, Wilcoxon signed ranks test, and chi-square and multiple regression analysis were utilized. In persons aged 60 years and older, vitamin D supplementation was found to improve the depression score.
