Physical activity and worsening of radiographic findings in persons with or at higher risk of knee osteoarthritis

Arthritis Care & Research Sep 25, 2018

Jayabalan P, et al. – Experts examined the association of sedentary and moderate-vigorous physical activity with greater risk of radiographic worsening knee osteoarthritis (OA) in 1,206 participants in this study. The mean age of enrolled participants was 64 years. Findings suggested an association of age, sex, body mass index, and pain—but not objectively measured average daily minutes of sedentary or moderate-vigorous activity—with subsequent worsening of KL grade in persons with or at higher risk for knee OA.
