Comprehensive clinical and molecular analyses of neuroendocrine carcinomas of the breast

Modern Pathology Sep 18, 2017

Lavigne M, et al. - This trial aspired to gain insight into the clinical, morphologic, phenotypic, and molecular features of neuroendocrine breast carcinomas. This carcinoma displayed as a distinct subtype of luminal carcinoma with a low rate of PIK3CA mutations. It exhibited an aggressive clinical behavior. An accurate detection of the neuroendocrine differentiation could assist in an improved customization of the patient adjuvant therapy within luminal carcinomas.
