The role of Lutheran/basal cell adhesion molecule in human bladder carcinogenesis

Chang HY, et al. – The physicians conducted this work to determine the role and downstream signaling pathway of lutheran/basal cell adhesion molecule (Lu/BCAM) in human bladder tumorigenesis. This is the first report displaying that lutheran/basal cell adhesion molecule, in the presence of its ligand laminin, is oncogenic in human urothelial cancers and may have potential as a new therapeutic target.
