Surgical results in penile fracture: Our single center experience

The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Sep 02, 2020

Yilmazel FK, Sam E, Altay MS, et al. - Researchers investigated the effectiveness of surgical treatment in penile fracture and its effect on complications. They retrospectively collected data of 21 patients (mean age: 36.8 ± 8.3 years) who were admitted to the emergency department and underwent emergency surgical repair with the diagnosis of penile fracture. From trauma to surgery, a mean duration of 7.6 ± 3.1 h was reported. Based on observations, they suggest penile fracture as a urological emergency, and undertaking timely surgery as an effective treatment method for limiting postoperative complications.
