Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation May 27, 2019

Wei AM, et al. - Comparison of pelvic floor reconstruction involving Herniamesh mesh vs biological grafts was done. In addition, they sought for the correlative factors of postoperative recurrence. Researchers analyzed 232 patients comprising two groups: Herniamesh mesh group (117) and biological graft group (115). As per outcomes, the mesh and biological grafts resulted in similar surgical recurrence rate at short-term follow-up. For reducing recurrence, often intake of soy products and vaginal intercourse after surgery may be helpful.
